ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN!

What Is Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals 2023: How To Shop

BLACK FRIDAY

Black Friday is widely globally recognized as the day following Thanksgiving Day in the USA, or simply the fourth Thursday of November. The first-ever Black Friday event was officially held in 1952 and since then it has been regarded as the “Beginning of the Christmas shopping season” in the USA.

This is one of the few days of the years when most major retailers open very early and more recently during overnight hours and offer exclusive and compelling promotional sales for customers. The event this year will be held on November 24, 2017.

Black Friday is officially registered as a holiday for state government employees for states like Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Over the years, especially since the 1990s, Black Friday has been touted as being one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

CYBER MONDAY

Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the USA. “Cyber Monday” itself can be called a mega one-day event and was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. Yes! The deals on Cyber Monday are ONLINE ONLY. Hence the term “Cyber” is used.

The term was coined by Ellen Davis and Scott Silverman and the first-ever Cyber Monday was held on November 28, 2005. The event for this year is going to be held on November 27, 2017. The aim of this one-day online event is to empower small and medium retailers to promote the deals and offers generally offered by smaller retailers that cannot compete with the big retailers.

The event has been a major success since the past decade and around 80 percent of online retailers said that their sales increased substantially on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Once it gained prominence, a Shop.org press release touted Cyber Monday as quickly becoming “One of the biggest online shopping days of the Year”.

Black Friday marks the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season, as it is the first day after the last major holiday before Christmas. While Cyber Monday further adds up to the delight as it is efficiently placed 3 days after Black Friday, thus making the entire weekend, a full-fledged shopping bonanza for customers.

How do I find the best deals?

Although it’s too early to know the specific deals for Black Friday 2023, you can be sure to be the first to know when the stores announce their discounts.

The Telegraph updates our Black Friday channel with offers as they become available. It’s better to put it as a favorite before the big day.

Sign up to receive email updates from merchants, download their applications, and follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. This will give you notifications that keep you up to date.

It is also a good idea to research in advance and highlight the products you want to buy. Therefore, a link is created to display discounts when the offers are published.

Sign up for Amazon Prime because the online sales giant offers premium members 30 minutes before the rest of the internet, exclusive discounts and early access to “easy” deals (usually sold in minutes). This extension could be crucial on Black Friday.

  • Buy 1-2 Domains for your New sites [ I recommend Godaddy]
  • Buy a Theme if necessary [ I recommend Elegant Themes]
