  491. Directory link submission in the beginning of time can help your search engine ranking plenty, but as time goes by, this can become a lengthy process. This is because you either have to spend money to not have to put a reciprocal link back to the directory, or you have to wait in queue and never know if you actually submit your link to that directory yet or not.

    Not to mentioned, plenty of directories goes out of business day by day simply because not a lot of people use the directory nowaday except for link submitters. Also, if you submitted your link to more than one hundreds directories and didn’t pay, you need a page that will have more than 100 links without contents. That much external links without contents can give google the impression that you hosting a link farm, even though you are not.

    That can be dealt with simply by breaking the reciprocal link page apart, or include some reciprocal links into your contents, which would require additional manual work if the directory does goes out of business and you need to remove their link.

    Nevertheless, thank you for the time and effort you put into the article, I do enjoy reading the article.

    I Personally Checked all directories that you listed here. Only found approximately 150 working directories. Most of the directories are offline, some directories are paid and found some directories several times. So, I think you should update this list.
