A Ground-Up Rebuild, Not a Tune-Up
According to the leaked details, Google scrapped its original plan to build Gemini 3.5 Pro on top of the existing Gemini 2.5 Pro base and instead ran an entirely new pretraining process — a decision reportedly responsible for the delay from an originally planned June launch.
