Seeing the enthusiasm of Indian consumers, Google repeated the festival in the year 2013.Contrary to people’s expectation, the Great Online Shopping Festival garnered double success than previous year.

Major online companies participated in the GOSF 2013 and they offered steep discounts in their products. Online giants like Snapdeal, Amazon, Flipkart, Goibibo, Makemytrip, Homeshop18 and Myntra participated in the festival. It was a grand online treat for Indian consumers. Fashion items, gadgets, mobiles, furnitures, home accessories, apparels and footwears were on the platter with huge discounts.
GOSF 2013 registered about 150% traffic increment compared to last year. There was such a major rush in demand that some online companies faced stock issues in keeping up with the orders. With attractive discounts on offer, sales jumped in leaps and bounds.
Myntra sold over one lakh fashion products in less than a day’s time. Myntra acknowledged that its sale shot upto triple times more than usual. Lenskart registered for about a 50% rise in its sale.
Indigo and Flipkart were the highest winners of GOSF 2013 in Twitter platform. According to a report from Twitter, the most electrifying brand in GSOF, 2013 was Indigo. It got the fastest response time of 25 minutes and its registration shot upto 1.7 million. As for customer engagement is concerned, Flipkart definitely took the lead with over 13, 750 mention. Tata Housing was in the highlight too with over fifty houses being sold in four days. Snapdeal experienced more than ten times increment in sales.
All in all GOSF 2013 performed well above 2012, but still some believe there were technical and quality glitches which affected performance. There were too many participating sites with not so attractive deals as compared to a festival offer.
