Young Buck was inspired to begin rapping at the age of 12 by his buddy and neighbor Clay Cole. David began recording his first tracks after Cole went to Florida.
Brian Baby Williams and his company quickly signed him. Buck had a falling out with Baby Williams and departed to work with rapper Juvenile, forming the UTP Playas band and signing to his friend’s company, UTP Records.
He recorded two albums with this label, The Compilation and Born to Be a Thug.
He was later approached by 50 Cent, who encouraged him to join G-Unit. Young accepted the offer and went on to record an album with this band called Beg for Mercy, which was a commercial success; nevertheless, the rapper subsequently alleged that 50 Cent withheld the majority of the album’s profits.
Buck was accused of illegally possessing a handgun in 2010. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail on July 13, 2012, and is expected to be released by the end of 2013.

He left Cash Money in 2000 and joined UTP, where he stayed for three years after working as a composer and producer for a couple of years.

Young Buck’s solo album “Straight Outta Cashville” earned Platinum in 2004 and includes the hits “Let Me In” (with 50 Cent), “Shorty Wanna Ride,” and “Look at Me Now,” among others (featuring Mr. Porter).
Following “Straight Outta Cashville,” he released the solo album “Buck the World” in 2007 and the G-Unit album “TOS” in 2008. (Terminate on Sight).
Young Buck was no longer a member of G-Unit owing to “inconsistent conduct,” according to 50 Cent, who revealed this a few months before the release of ” T.O.S.”
Young Buck later produced a few diss tracks against 50 Cent and G-Unit after 50 Cent leaked the recording of a phone call in which he could be heard weeping and begging 50 Cent to let him back into the group.
Young Buck has been unable to release new songs for years due to his contract with G-Unit Records, but he confirmed in 2012 that he was no longer under contract with the company.
Young Buck reunited with G-Unit in 2014, collaborating on the EPs “The Beauty of Independence” and “The Beast Is G-Unit,” both of which charted at #3 on the Top Rap Albums list.
