Google Removes Search Console Reporting

Google announces a major update, ending Google’s Search Console reporting for six deprecated structured data types. This change also removes them from the Rich Results Test and Search appearance filters, streamlining search results for users. For the unawares, Google Search Console is a set of tools and resources designed to assist website owners, webmasters, marketers, and SEO professionals in enhancing their websites.

What Changes With Search Console Reporting Bring?

Search Console Reporting for Six Structured Data Types

Google stops reporting and testing for the following structured data types:

  • Course Info
  • Claim Review
  • Estimated Salary
  • Learning Video
  • Special Announcement
  • Vehicle Listing

Book Actions remains unaffected by this change. API responses for these types will continue until December 2025. For Bulk Data Export, deprecated Search appearance fields will return as NULL by October 2025. Google advises using the IS operator in BigQuery to ensure queries remain functional.

This move simplifies Google’s Search Console reporting, focusing on high-value data. Google emphasizes that this update does not impact website rankings or indexability, only reporting and visual enhancements.

Website owners using Google’s Search Console reporting should act quickly. Update queries or dashboards relying on these deprecated fields. Switch to IS checks in conditional logic to maintain query functionality when fields turn NULL. No need to remove the markup, as it won’t affect your site’s ranking eligibility.

Google’s decision aligns with its goal to deliver a cleaner, more focused search results page. The company stated, “We believe this change contributes to a cleaner, more focused Search results page for everyone.” In June, Google revealed plans to phase out seven structured data types, including the six now removed from reporting, plus Book Actions.

Looking ahead, Google will prioritize structured data types that help users evaluate content effectively. Expect further simplifications as Google continues to refine its search ecosystem. Stay proactive by updating your tools and queries to adapt to these changes. Monitor Google’s announcements for future updates to ensure your site remains optimized for search performance.
